Having been around since 2001, Heartdetectives has a long history of being one of the oldest online dating sites and delivering services to a once thriving and no-longer-growing community of singles. Although it’s not completely free for any members, the site still gives them a lot of paid features for free, which is probably why the site’s demographic still exists after 19 years.
Member Structure
Heartdetectives offers both free & paid accounts to all of its members. Male members benefit more from upgrading, as (unlike the female members), they do not have unlimited replies. Instead, they get five free chats, which have to be sent to different members. Free accounts are also able to send Hearts, add members to their Favorites list, and upload photos. When a user upgrades, they have unlimited messaging, send photos/videos via chat, use extended search features, and more!
Heartdetectives App
As one of the older adult dating sites, Heartdetectives definitely had the option of making a dedicated application, but it chose not to. Instead, Heartdetectives has a mobile-optimized version of the site, which often uses primarily icons instead of words. This works relatively well on mobile devices & includes the same features as the desktop version. While a dedicated app would have been nice, the mobile version can be used on any mobile device, which is a plus.

To do this, go to the email you supplied, open up the inbox, find the email from Heartdetectives, and click on the link inside the email to verify your account. From here, you can upload a profile photo and then add account details. Many users don’t bother to complete their profiles, so it’s an easy way to stand out from the crowd!

Searching to find your match on Heartdetectives is a very straightforward process. The search bar provides you with a variety of filters (such as sexual orientation or body type), making it easy to find your dream partner. Once a member upgrades to a paid membership, they have access to unlimited messaging. However, since men usually message women (not the other way around), upgrading makes more sense for men than it does for women.

If you’re looking to form personal connections & find real relationships, then we definitely don’t recommend Heartdetectives. Especially if you’re a man, it offers access to a massive online community of singles looking for love, but the result is scam accounts preying upon singles seeking matches. You won’t have any trouble finding yourself a lady, but will she be real? Probably not. The site ignores any approach to online safety, so you can’t feel secure when using this website. As of now, it doesn’t seem to work due to a server error. Will it be resurrected as something greater, or is the platform dead? Only time will tell.
