Buddygays is not only a dating site for gay men; it a kind of social network where gays can meet and have fun. Still, most members are looking for some relationship. What’s even better, it looks like almost all of them hit success quickly. I went in to test that.

All the members are men. The age varies from 18 to 55+, but most members are between 18 and 35 years old. With 300,000 members in the USA, it’s not the biggest dating site for gays, but with 100,000 weekly active users, it’s one of the most active sites.

If you insist on looking for love only via dating apps, Buddygays will disappoint you. An app for Android or IOS devices doesn’t exist. But their website is modern, so it works great on mobile phones and tablets. I registered on my laptop, but after that, I only used this site on my Android. Playing the “Hot or Not” game was more entertaining on a mobile phone than on a desktop, but that might be my personal preference.
Everything works the same as on the desktop version; it feels like you’re in a dating app. Even those who usually insist on using an app will be satisfied with the Buddygasy mobile version's performances.

Buddygays is one of the safes gay dating sites because it lets you turn on one of 3 levels of the “Safe Mode”. It also asks for email verification and credit card verification. That means there are no bots on the site, so you can be relaxed. I was contacted by a profile which was trolling, but a quick block solved that. I know that was a real person because there are no bots, but I don’t understand why anybody would spend money to be a troll. Still, that happened only once in 3 months.

Buddygays won’t smother you with a long registration process. It will take you a minute to register and 5-10 minutes to verify your email (because it takes that long for an email to arrive).
All you have to fill in while registering to Buddygays is:

Profile Creation
Finishing your Buddygays profile will take a little longer, but you won’t have any problems with it. I did it in less than 10 minutes, and I’m very slow in those things.
You can fill in your personal data (hair color, tribe, etc.). They let you post a status (like on Facebook). You can post photos and short videos (I’d spent the first night just gazing at videos of single gay men). You can also write who you are looking for.
Searching and Matchmaking
You can search manually using filters such as location or age, but it’s much more fun to use a special feature in “Like gallery”. Playing the “Hot or Not” game is one of my favorite things to do on Buddygays. It’s exciting to see who liked you back, and that’s a great foundation to start a conversation.

I loved Buddygays, that’s why this review is mostly positive. Members are friendly, the site works great, special features are fun, and I’ve met more single gays than I expected.
